Karen worked in the medical field as an MRI and Cat Scan Specialist. Her hobbies were pottery making and glass work. She loved children and dogs and although she did not get her desire to have children of her own she was the most loving aunt the daughters of her siblings could hope to have. Her warmth and generosity will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Barber of Biloxi, MS., her parents, Helen and John (Jack) McCarthy of Ocean Springs, MS., four sisters, Maureen Hanshew of Austin, TX., Patricia McCarthy, Elizabeth Smith and Mary Ann Joiner, and three brothers, John McCarthy, Kevin McCarthy and David Dale, all of Ocean Springs.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 4, 2010, from 12 Noon until 2 pm, with a 2 pm chapel service, all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to the SPCA.
Chef Jeremy Williams, age 35 of Biloxi, MS., died Thursday, July 29, 2010 in Ocean Springs.
Jeremy was raised in Hattiesburg, MS and was a resident of Biloxi for the past ten years. He was the former Head Chef at Minions Restaurant in the Palace Casino and current Chef de'Cuisine at Restaurant "32" in the IP Casino. He was the former owner of FUZE Restaurant in Ocean Springs and Opus Restaurant in Gautier and was also a member of the Gulf Coast Culinary Chefs Association. In addition, he had worked at various restaurants throughout the United States and the Caribbean and most importantly, he was a wonderful son and brother.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Senator J.L. and Broma Phillips Adams; his father, Pastor Embry Williams; half-brother, Lee Williams and cousin, Laura Watts.
Survivors include his mother, Dr. Mary Ann Adams of Hattiesburg; step-fathers, Mark Maneval of Gulfport and Hoyt Holston of Poplar Bluff, MO; sister, Markie Maneval of Hattiesburg; brother, Sam Williams of Austin TX; half-sister Ashley Williams of Cookeville, TN; half-brother, Elliott Williams of Biloxi, MS; cousins, Maggie Walls of Atlanta, GA, Maribeth Colon' and Maddie McGrotha both of Tallahassee, FL; aunts, Nancy (Jim) Watts of Marianna, FL, Beth McGrotha of Tallahassee, FL; uncles, Lowell Adams of Thailand and Louis Adams of Dothan, AL.
There was a pre-celebration of Jeremy's life at Venues Ultra Lounge and Grill across from Beau Rivage Casino in Biloxi on Sunday, August 1, 2010 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. for all coast chefs and friends of Chef Jeremy.
Memorial Service was on Monday, August 2, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. where friends may visit one hour prior at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home.
Rudolph Dill, age 87, died Saturday, July 31, 2010 in Ocean Springs.
Mr. Dill grew up in Linn, Mississippi. In 1939, he joined the U.S. Army and was actively engaged in 10 amphibious landings in the Pacific, in which he earned two Purple Hearts, while serving in 7th Infantry. In 1947, Mr. Dill, joined the USAF and served as a gunner on an A-26 Invader during the Korean War, as part of the 13th Bomb Squadron. Following military retirement in 1961, Mr. Dill entered the Credit Union industry, working at Keesler FCU in Biloxi, managing the Mutual Credit Union in Vicksburg, MS, and later retiring as the President of the Mississippi Credit Union League in 1988. Throughout his life, Mr. Dill was involved in numerous civic and volunteer organizations.
Mr. Dill is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margie Crouch Dill, and his children: Adrianne Linton, of Spring Branch, TX; Gary Dill, of Vicksburg, MS; Ron Dill, of Boerne, TX and Barry Dill of Jackson, MS., 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Mattie Ringold Dill; son, Michael Dill and brothers James Dill and Bill Dill.
Visitation was Monday from 6 - 8 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Rd., Biloxi. Services were held at 11:45 AM Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. The burial service followed at Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors.

Mr. James Calvin Phillips, Sr., 73, of Ocean Springs, MS, died Sunday, July 25, 2010, in Moss Point.
Mr. Phillips was born in Rockcastle County, KY and had been a longtime resident of the coast. He was a retired U. S. Air Force TSgt who served in Vietnam. As a civilian he retired from Ingall's after 25 years. He loved his puppies and was an easy going, quiet man who was well loved by everyone. He enjoyed camping and was very patriotic.
Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife of 40 years, Arlette Phillips; two daughters, Rebecca Phillips and Christine Roper and her husband, Chuck; two sons, James C. Phillips, Jr. and his wife, Rachel, and Buren F. Phillips and his wife, Debbie; one brother, Max Phillips and his wife, Marjo; five grandchildren, Jessica Roper, Luke Brennan Phillips, Christopher Phillips, Samuel Phillips and Jacob Phillips; and his very good friend, Debbye Higginbotham.
Visitation was Wednesday, July 28, 2010, from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, in Biloxi. Graveside services followed at 12:30 p.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery.
Mrs. Helen Marie Hill, 61, of Ocean Springs, MS, died Saturday, July 24, 2010, in Ocean Springs.
Mrs. Hill was born in Biloxi and remained a lifelong resident of the coast. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Fleur de Lis Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Lydee Broussard St. Amant; and her brother, Otis Paul St. Amant. She is survived by her husband, Fred L. Hill, Sr.; daughters, Suzanne (Raymond) Bates and Elizabeth Hill; sons, Fred L. Hill, Jr. and Jesse Hill, all of N. Biloxi; sister, Betty Ann Gilbert of Biloxi; one grandchild, Jessica Hill, of Biloxi; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation was Wednesday, July 28, 2010, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, in Biloxi. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel. Interment followed in D'Iberville Memorial Park.

Mr. Dewey Lindsey, 87, of Ocean Springs, MS, went to be with his Lord Sunday, July 25, 2010, in Ocean Springs.
Mr. Lindsey was born in Calhoun County, Arkansas and had been a resident of Ocean Springs since 1968. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran of WW II and a member of Cedar Lake Christian Assembly in Biloxi. He was vice president of the National American Corporation (NACO).
Mr. Lindsey was preceded in death by his first wife, Grace B. Lindsey. He is survived by his wife, Emelia Lindsey; daughter, Vickie (Michael) Mitrisin; son, Ron (Sandra) Lindsey; sister, Eunice Stogsdill; brother, Edward Lindsey; grandchildren, John Lindsey, Jennifer Lewis, Samantha Hill and Matthew Lindsey; and six great grandchildren.
Visitation was Tuesday, July 27, 2010, from 5 until 7 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs. Funeral services are Wednesday in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Park.
