Just a baby, but so happy to be the new kid on the block, the Gazette celebrates it’s second birthday this week.

The Gazette would be unable to publish it’s information packed paper every week without the following contributors, John Kernell, Joey Conwill, Bobby Layton, Samantha Hebert, Ron Feder, Sid Salter, Ray Bellande, Dr. Chris Duke, Dr. Mandi Smith, Cecelia Baker, Chris Ruple, Laurel Luckey, Dustin Boles, Bob Trout, Dr. Robert Hirsch, Matt Segal, Hailey Robin, Jack McKee and Congressman Steven Palazzo. Ricky Nobletoon is our beloved cartoonist. Thank you for your dedication to our paper.

The Gazette would like to recognize an unsung heroine, Amanda Bybee who is the only original employee. The former Editors of the Gazette that have contributed are Frank Stumbo, Angie Cutrer, and Leigh Coleman.

The Gazette strives to capture the essence of our community every week. Our Political Spotlights, Athlete of the week, and community and arts pages reveal the true blessing and joy it is to live, work and play in Ocean Springs.

We could not survive without you, our reader. Thank you for picking up the Gazette every week and sharing our triumphs and sometimes our tragedies. A while ago I put the following quote in the staff box and I’ve often wondered if any of our readers were curious to what it translated to. “Pro diligo of defero” in Latin translates to “For love of Community” That sums up what drives the staff here at the Gazette.

On behalf of our Publishers, Alwyn Luckey and Scott Walker, our Executive Editor Aimee Hester, our Art Director, Graphic and Layout Designer, Subscription Manager Amanda Bybee, Director of Advertising Tracey Landrum, Internet and Advertising Manager Alex Byrd, and Features Writer Donna Orchard, thank you for two years of supporting the Gazette.
