Mrs. Betty Lou Fountain was born February 9, 1933. She passed away Saturday, May 29, 2010, at her home in the St. Martin Community.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl W. Fountain, Sr., parents and sister, Kate. She is survived by her sister, Helen (Fran) Mosher, and her four children, Kenny, Sr. (Barbara), Gary (Becky), Carl, II (Nan) and Donna (Larry) Richards. She was a loving grandmother to her eight grandchildren, Christy, Nicholas, Kenny, II, Jeffrey, Sarah, Rachel, Tiffany and Matthew, and to her five great grandchildren. She leaves behind her loyal Dachsund companion, "Rusty".
Mrs. Fountain was employed at Keesler AFB for 20 years. She served her community and church through Sacred Heart St. Vincent De Paul of D'Iberville. She was a former member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She had a strong passion for the New Orleans Saints and New York Yankees which was contagious to those closest to her. Above all else, she was a well loved mother and grandmother.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation to be made to Sacred Heart St. Vincent De Paul., 10446 Lemoyne Blvd., D'Iberville, MS 39540. The family wishes to extend their deepest appreciation to Dr. Motakhaveri and Camellia Home Health Care, as well as Nina DuBose for their loving care and concern.
Funeral services were at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 675 Howard Avenue, Biloxi, were friends visited one hour before service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.
Joseph C. Hank, 91, of Ocean Springs died Tuesday, May 25, 2010, in Ocean Springs.
Mr. Hank was a native of northeast Kansas and attended Central Business College in Kansas City before entering the U.S. Army Air Corps Aviation Cadet Program in 1943. After his discharge from active duty, Mr. Hank attended Kansas University and continued to serve in the Air National Guard Reserve. He then worked as a systems engineer for International Business Machines (IBM) and later for Amoco Oil Company in Chicago, Ill., retiring in 1980 after 28 years with Amoco. He relocated to Ocean Springs to spend his retirement years and remained there until his death.
He was an active member of the Gulf Park Estates Volunteer Fire Department, the St. Andrews Men's Golf Association, and Score, serving as a small business counselor for SBA. He was also a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Ocean Springs, Elks Lodge #2501 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).
Mr. Hank was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia, who died in 1973; and his second wife, June, who died in 2002, as well as his son-in-law, Larry Jones.
He is survived by two daughters, Mary Jo Jones of Ocean Springs and Judith Lee Braun and her husband, Don, of Chicago, five grandchildren, Laura Jones, Michael Jones, Jennifer Braun Finney, Matthew Braun, and Bethany Braun; six great-grandchildren, Cayla Jones, Tyler Jones, Jared Jones, Cassie Finney, Josie Finney, and Maddie Finney; and his niece, Sarah Hank Juilfs, and her husband, Butch.
Services were held Saturday, May 29, at 1 p.m. at St. Johns Episcopal Church in Ocean Springs, with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Burial was in Biloxi National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be made in Mr. Hank's name to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org, the American Heart Association at www.americanheart.org or the Hospice of Light.

Mrs. Helen Louise Brown Newby, age 71, of Ocean Springs, MS., died Monday, May 24, 2010, in Ocean Springs.
Mrs. Newby was a longtime resident of Ocean Springs and a resident of the Ocean Springs Nursing Center for nine years. She was of the Catholic faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Bernice Brown.
Survivors include her husband, Howard Newby, two daughters, Yolanda Jean Ferguson and April Starr Hebert, a son, Greg Lee Newby, three sisters, Edith Schaeffer, Ozell Szelag and Lenora McDaniels, two brothers, Howard Brown and Elwood Brown, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation was on Friday, May 28, 2010, from 10 am ~ 11 am, with an 11 am chapel service, all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Burial followed in Crestlawn Memorial Park.
Ms. Catherine "Cat" Ely, age 75, of Vancleave, MS., passed away on Friday, May 21, 2010, in Ocean Springs.
Catherine was a lifelong resident of Vancleave and spent her whole life devoted to her family. She was a mother to many and there was not a child on the hill that didn't think of her as mom. She loved crabbing, attending the annual Pow Wow, and spending time with her family. She especially cherished spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and countless friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus Ely and Celeste Ely Irwin, her brothers and sisters, Johnny Ely, Lillian Bang, Joe Ely, Margie Davis, Ethel Davis, Harriet Irwin, Howard Ely, and her great-nephew, Mark Wayne Prevost.
Survivors include four children, Arnold "Tom" Ely, Tonya "Toni" Williams, Richard "Rick" (Connie) Ely, and Karen (Michael) Strandberg, grandchildren, Richard "R.T." (Jane) Ely, Steven Williams, Rebecca Williams, Joshua "Josh" Ely, Jessica "Sissy" Ely, Celeste "Paige" Strandberg, three great-grandchildren, Haley Ely, Kaylee Williams and Harrison Ely, two brothers, Gordon "Jimmy" Ely and Rufus "Juneboy" Ely II, sister, Frances "Fran" Brown, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation was on Tuesday, May 25, 2010, from 6 pm ~ 8 pm, at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. On Wednesday, May 26, 2010, there was a 10 am chapel service in the funeral home. Burial followed in Beulah Cemetery in Vancleave.
Pallbearers will be Norman Bang, Randy Ely, Brandon Ely, David Prevost, Keith Prevost, Kevin Prevost, Brandon Parnell and Wayne Harper.
